Video

Today let’s talk about videos. We don’t talk about it very often but they can be just as effective to your brand promotion. There are a couple of different kinds of videos you can make. Today we will go over just a few. According to research, videos are twice as likely to create memorable content. At the end of the video make sure to add a “call to action”. Let them know that if they like what they see, then they can find similar content on your website, blog, or other social media platforms.

1. Behind The Scenes. A great way to build loyal followers is through “behind the scenes” video. These videos allow viewers to feel as if they are a part of your journey. Not only that, but it is a great way to allow them to see you in a more candid way, helping your personality to really come across.

2. How-To Videos. Depending on your business, educational how-to videos are a fun way to engage your followers. How-To videos tend to encourage conversation within your customers. These tutorial videos need to conservative length. Keep the just long enough to go through all the necessary steps, but short enough to maintain interest. Research shows that you have a total of 7-10 seconds to grab someone’s attention, which means that you have to make the first part of your video the most interesting.

3. Informative Videos. Simplify the theory’s you work on, that are of the most interest to your followers. A simple way to do this, is to take your blog posts, find the top points, and make it fun!

4. User Generated Videos. Let you viewers join in! Have them test out your product, and create some videos themselves! A great way to do this is through a contest. This really allows your audience to engage with you and each other.

As videos go up, hopefully viewers will begin to comment on them. Stay active! Respond to the comments. Not dry comments, but engaging comments to continue the ongoing conversation. Don’t feel like you need to run the discussion, but help keep it alive. As a part of these discussions, ask the audience what future videos they’d like to see. What parts of your business are they most interested in.

Get out there, come up with some video ideas, and go for it!

Instagram post 17869165337704515 Shot in The State Capital in Harrisburg earlier this year; just finalized, printed, and delivered for all the Judges. This is the test print I ordered; video doesn’t exactly capture correct exposure. Superior Court if Pennsylvania. If I have time, will do a post in sections…. Still, all the details of this courtroom are so amazing, that the photo is as much about the institution of the space as well as the judges.

Instagram post 18207954799092521 Have you been to Racoon? Lived in #pittsburgh all my life, and only went to that small little beach once. But this place is huge! So glad we camped here for a close weekend “away”. And it’s mushroom season! Lots of cool mushrooms you can observe. Since ya know it’s @dan_jenworleyphotography thing.

Instagram post 17958591202674039 Just playing around after our job. Dan and dogs brunch at @corkandforkpa (Great pistachio arugula pizza!)First time for me in Harrisburg. Impressed. Guess I wasn’t expecting much, as Erie PA is bigger, so I’m told. But love it! Reminds me a bit of a quiet and more spacious Old-City-Philly. With a small-time feel. The PA Captial building is amazingly beautiful, and in great shape! I had the privilege of being in the Superior Court rooms, and the artwork from 1920 (by Violet Oakley) was amazing. Not sure if I can post those though.Glad I extended my work trip by a tiny bit to see more of this city. Worth a trip. And stay at @hiltonhbg.

Instagram post 17962231570515370 Back in December, I was hired to bring my skills for an event promoting Women Leading Women , a non-profit whose goal is to empower women through female-led conversations exploring career, family, and well being.I had 22 amazing women in front of my lens, with the goal of capturing their confidence and beauty. As a female photographer, I know the struggle women in business face in trying to do it all, while not letting go of their standards. Of standing their ground and not shying away from confrontation when needed. And supporting our community, as we are owed the same respect as our male colleagues. My hope is to continue these missions in my role as President of the Pittsburgh chapter of ASMP: The American Society of Media Photographers
