Matthew N. Korenoski

Matthew N. Korenoski is an Associate Attorney at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky. Mr. Korenoski works primarily in the areas of municipal law, civil litigation and personal injury.

Mr. Korenoski started with SMGG in the summer of 2015 as a Law Clerk and was asked to join the firm as an Associate after graduation. While at SMGG, Mr. Korenoski has had exposure to a variety of practice areas, with an increased emphasis in the areas of municipal law, civil litigation, and personal injury.

Mr. Korenoski has assisted in representing government bodies, including townships, boroughs and other local authorities, in matters involving zoning, land use, Right to Know Law, tax assessments, and sewage and water issues. He also represents individuals in similar public sector-related matters. Mr. Korenoski has argued on behalf municipalities, businesses, and individual clients in various court proceedings.

Mr. Korenoski’s litigation and personal injury practice consists of assisting in representation of individual and corporate clients in various matters including contracts, fraud, misrepresentation, restrictive covenants, consumer rights, real estate, breach of fiduciary duty, motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability.

Mr. Korenoski graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in June 2016, cum laude. While there, he served as an Associate Editor for the Duquesne Law Review, and his article O’Bannon vs. the NCAA: An Antitrust Assault on the NCAA’s Dying Amateurism Principle was selected for publication in Volume 54, Issue 2.

While in law school, Mr. Korenoski served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Thomas M. Hardiman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit where he reviewed and edited bench memoranda, non-precedential and precedential opinions, and produced research memoranda related to matters before the court.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Korenoski enjoys running, and playing soccer and tennis. He is also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Mr. Korenoski grew up in Johnstown, PA and currently resides in the South Side Works area of the City of Pittsburgh with his fiancé.
